Basware has approximately 1300 employees spread across offices in 14 countries and customers in more than 90.
The Legal Department of Basware is part of Basware's Corporate Functions (which also includes Finance and HR). The Corporate Functions support the business by providing and continuously developing high quality tools, processes and expertise to enable successful execution of company strategy, effective operations, and happy internal and external customers.
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team (5 including this role). As Basware's footprint grows in the North American market, we are looking for an individual located in the USA/Canada. You will work as part of the legal team based in Spain, Finland and Belgium and help make it all just happen for our customers.
In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to be part of an in-house legal team in a growing and forward-looking technology company. You will get to work on a variety of tasks and develop both your legal skills as well as business understanding.
Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting Basware's sales organization based in USA to negotiate and conclude commercial deals in a timely manner;
  
• Supporting Basware's Customer Success Management (CSM) team with contract renewals, negotiations, amendments, etc.
  
• Supporting the General Counsel on corporate, HR and compliance matters.
  
• Negotiating contracts with vendors and partners.
  
• Cooperating with external counsels when needed.
  
• Providing training on legal matters for relevant parts of Basware organization.
  
  Minimum Requirements:
  
  
• A degree in Law.
  
• 7+ years of experience as a Commercial Counsel at Software companies where the role is focused on outbound technology transactions.
  
• Extensive experience leading the drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts including SaaS licensing, MSAs, and more.
  
• Works very closely with Sales teams at all steps of the sales process and helps quarterback deals.
  
• Experience advising on Privacy and Product related matters.
